PM impressed with Heritage Park Hotel

PRIME Minister Dr Derek Sikua is impressed with the progress of the Heritage Park Hotel development currently underway in Honiara. He was given the opportunity to see the progress on Saturday. Accompanying him during the visit to the site were;
Kostas Constantinou, managing director of Papua New Guinea’s Lamana Development, which is building the hotel to add to its leading hotels in Papua New Guinea,

Honiara City Council Lord Mayor Andrew Mua,
Acting Minister of Finance Gordon Darcy Lilo,
Minister of Home Affairs James Tora,
Sir George Lepping,
Francis Zama,
and hotel project manager Bill Mathew.“I’m happy to see the progress of the hotel development which is going to be first five star hotel in the country,” Dr Sikua said.“I’m also happy because it is connected well with my Government’s policy to increase hotel beds and visitors.” Dr Sikua said the government is aiming for 30,000 visitors next year. At the moment between 18,000 to 19,000 visitors come, he said.Dr Sikua praised Mr Constantinou for investing in the country. He added that nine more investors from Papua New Guinea are coming.The hotel is expected to be completed by April.A complex for Bank South Pacific will also be built on the road side of the hotel. The hotel itself sits beside the sea.
